NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports the Cleveland Browns will start Johnny Manziel at quarterback for the remainder of the season, according to a source informed of the Browns' plans.
Jay Glazer first reported the news.
It's time to see what Manziel can do after the Browns took him in the first round last year. He's coming off one of his better games in a loss to the Steelers last week in what was a tough, fantasy matchup. Manziel was able to feed targets WR Travis Benjamin as well as TE Gary Barnidge, which is good news for their upside going forward. RB Duke Johnson is a threat to catch balls out of the backfield, but the Browns haven't really been able to establish a consistent run game this season. Manziel and the offense should be playing from behind a lot the rest of the way so Manziel has some streaming and QB2 value.
