According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, head coach Anthony Lynn has officially made rookie quarterback Justin Herbert the starter going forward.
While there was little doubt that Herbert had done enough to keep the job even when Tyrod Taylor was healthy, Lynn was hesitant to make the permanent switch official when Taylor was recovering from a punctured lung at the hands of team doctors. Taylor knew that he was a stopgap solution for the Chargers, but the way what is likely his last starting role ended has to leave a bad taste in the mouths of all involved. Herbert has been impressive since he took over under center, and is the QB10 from Week 2 through Week 4. Herbert is our 19th ranked quarterback for Week 5.
