Lions' Calvin Johnson has temporary cast on thumb

Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was pulled out of Sunday's practice with a jammed right thumb and he was sporting a temporary cast on his thumb today.

Johnson will undergo more tests to make sure there isn't any significant damage to his thumb.

Initial X-rays on Johnson's thumb were negative, but the Lions are going to have their star receiver undergo a more detail examination.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz told the media the cast is a precautionary move.

Per Bears head coach Matt Eberflus: Ryan Bates remains in the concussion protocol. Elijah Hicks (ankle) and D'Andre Swift (groin) won't practice.

Teven Jenkins will be limited.

This is definitely a situation to keep an eye on, as Johnson would have a huge workload if Swift were to miss Week 12. Homer has three rush attempts and zero targets on the year.
