Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch rushed for more yards over the final eight games last season than any NFL back, but he has not practiced in more than a week because of back spasms. That condition forced him to miss one game last year. He won't play in the exhibition finale Thursday.
There hasn't been much written about this injury, which leads us to believe it's not too serious. The Seahawks are probably just letting Lynch rest up for the regular season. There's still the matter of a possible suspension due to Lynch's DUI, but he may avoid it since it was his first violation of the NFL's drug policy. (Lynch's other issues were violations of the league's conduct policy.)
