Mike Thomas has been thrust into the role as the Lions’ No. 2 receiver.
Thomas played sparingly the first three weeks after the trade, but he caught two passes and scored a touchdown in a Thanksgiving loss to the Houston Texans and he saw his most extensive action of the season – 70 snaps – in Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Thomas could be a sneaky play this week against the Packers in what may be a high-scoring game, or one where the Lions will have to play from behind. Thomas said he's just starting to find a rhythm with QB Matt Stafford, so by the end of the year Thomas could be a very usable option, especially in deeper leagues. Kris Durham has come off the practice squad and could also see some snaps.
