Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew has a sprained foot the team believes will sideline him multiple games. He does not need foot surgery, which means he does not have Lisfranc, per team source.
Jags coach Mike Mularkey said it appears Maurice Jones-Drew has an arch sprain “based on the pressure and where the initial swelling comes from.”
Mularkey said there’s even concern that Jones-Drew could have a Lisfranc fracture (dislocation injury of the tarsometatarsal joints) that could end his season. A similar injury ended the season last season for Houston quarterback Matt Schaub.
Jones-Drew escapes Lisfranc, which would have sidelined him the rest of the year. Rashad Jennings will get the start and should be in store for a big workload against the Packers in Week 8, so if he's still on your wire be sure to put a claim in for him. There isn't a timetable yet for when MJD will be back.
