More Playing Time for Washington WR Devin Thomas?

If Redskins wide receiver Anthony Armstrong (groin) is inactive against the St. Louis Rams, wideout Devin Thomas could finally get a chance on offense.

"I'm always ready," said Thomas, who has participated only on special teams during Washington's first two games. "You never know when it's going to come, so all you can do is stay positive."

The third-year player has continued to do and say all the right things while being buried on the depth chart at wideout since the outset of training camp because Mike and Kyle Shanahan have not seen what they expected to from him. Thomas has run hard on kickoff returns and ranks third in the NFL with a 28.4-yard average. His performance in practice has also steadily improved, according to some of Thomas's teammates.

And Thomas could not have handled the situation more professionally. He often can be found sitting in front of his dressing stall during media availability at Redskins Park, answering another round of questions about his standing in the offense while being encircled by reporters and television cameras.

"Obviously, it's tough when you want to be out there contributing and you're not, but I have to just keep working," he said. "That's the only thing that can help make it better."

Fantasy Impact:

In most leagues, Thomas is probably on the waiver wire. He's someone to keep an eye on.
