Eagles wideout Nelson Agholor said he will have an MRI on his injured left leg Monday after leaving Sunday’s 39-17 win over the Saints early.
Agholor said the lower-leg injury isn’t to his ankle, but instead is “muscle related.” After leaving the game, trainers tried to loosen up his leg muscles but they remained tight.
Although there’s no diagnosis, the first-round pick doesn’t think the injury is severe. He said he wanted to come back in Sunday’s game but team doctors held him out.
Agholor said he hopes to be able to practice this week, but we can't always trust a player's word about his own injury. The good news is it wasn't his ankle so it's possible he has a quick return for Week 6.
