Packers WR Jake Kumerow turning heads at camp

Jake Kumerow, who spent two seasons on Cincinnati’s practice squad and a month on New England’s before joining Green Bay’s on Dec. 26, has been the surprise of Packers training camp.

He has performed so well in the first nine practices that he’s getting snaps with the No. 1 offense and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is actively looking for him. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say he has been the third-best receiver in camp.

Fantasy Impact:

The story put it nicely in that there’s still a long way to go before Kumerow can be called NFL-worthy, but GM Brian Gutekunst will look like a genius if Kumerow makes the team. Either that or he’ll be raked over the coals if his three receiver draft picks don't outperform the street free agent.
