Panthers rescind franchise tag on CB Josh Norman making him a free agent

Panthers announced Wednesday that the team has rescinded the non-exclusive franchise tag on cornerback Josh Norman.

Fantasy Impact:

We don't cover a lot of IDP news, but this is a major story and will certainly affect at least two fantasy defenses in 2016. Norman is considered one of the best cornerbacks in the game and wherever he lands there will be fantasy implications, especially for opposing receivers.

This puts Schoonmaker more or less in TE streaming consideration, but there are far better options this week, which puts him low on the totem pole.

Eagles ruled out WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) for Sunday against the Rams.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a bit of a crapshoot as to who the "WR2" on the offense will be, but now that he's ruled out, Brown and Goedert should get a nice boost to their bottom line. That would lock Goedert into a no-doubt TE1 role in Week 12.
