When the New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals meets in an NFC divisional round game Saturday in the Superdome, Saints running back Pierre Thomas said he expects to be in the lineup.
Thomas, who suffered broken ribs Dec. 27 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, missed the season-finale at the Carolina Panthers. But after a few days of discomfort, he said he is finally running and breathing pain free.
"I feel good," Thomas said. "I'm not worried about that at all. I can't wait to Saturday. I am anxious and glad to be back. I'm not having any problems. I'm out there moving, running, lifting weights, sneezing, coughing, whatever it is I'm doing it all like I've been doing it. I feel fine."
Saints Coach Sean Payton agreed, saying Thomas, who fully participated in Wednesday's practice, is making progress.
"He's doing well," Payton said. "Certainly the time has helped him and he's practicing well."
