Michael Vick did not practice Thursday and Kevin Kolb took all of the first-team repetitions at quarterback as the Eagles continued their preparations for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Vick was inside the indoor facility for the early portion of practice and participated in warm-ups and did some throwing. But when the formal portion of practice began, the Eagles' starting quarterback left.
Vick has been sidelined with an injury to his ribs. He missed Sunday's game against the 49ers -- an Eagles victory -- and appears to be a long shot to play against his former team at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday. Vick said yesterday that he shouldn't be counted out from returning in time and that he could play even if he didn't practice all week.
Eagles coach Andy Reid was less optimistic.
Vick wants to play in this game very badly, at home, against his former team. But he'll need to talk his way into the start most likely. So for now, it looks like Kolb will get the nob again. Vick could return in Week 7, but with a bye in Week 8, it's possible he's not back until Week 9, just to be safe.
