It’s a big day for Matt Schaub.
He didn’t practice Wednesday after being hospitalized for a bursa sac issue in his right knee, but coach Gary Kubiak said Schaub should be on the field for practice today and all indications are he's expected to play Sunday.
The Texans certainly need Schaub on the field to face the Jets this week, but we may not know his status until game time.
A hospital stay suggests doctors were aggressively fighting an infection with IV antibiotics. If that doesn’t work, things could get more complicated.
We’ve heard a lot about the improvements Dan Orlovsky has made in his second season with the Texans. But as Houston tries to pull to 5-5, it certainly doesn’t want to have to rely on Orlovsky proving he’s better while playing against a complex, blitz-happy defense.
Matt Leinart’s been the No. 3 all year.
Stay tuned for a Schaub update this afternoon.
