The Shaun Hill era in St. Louis is on hold after only two quarters.
Hill, tabbed as the Rams' starter last month after Sam Bradford suffered a torn ACL, was replaced at halftime by Austin Davis, who had never played in a regular-season game in two previous seasons as a Rams backup.
The Rams announced that Hill had suffered a thigh injury, though he remained standing on the sideline with his helmet on early in the third quarter as Davis led the Rams to their first scoring drive – a 56-yard field goal by Greg Zuerline.
Hill left the game after completing 8 of 13 passes for 81 yards including an interception.
The Rams offense struggled as a whole and both QBs threw an interception in the blowout loss. The Rams visit Tampa Bay in Week 2. There was some confusion at first and some thought Hill was benched due to coach's decision.
