Ravens rookie tight end Nick Boyle has been suspended for the final four regular season games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The league announced the suspension Monday. Boyle will be eligible to return to the active roster following the Ravens’ season finale on Jan. 3.
Boyle has 18 receptions for 153 yards this season. He was a fifth-round pick last spring who has seen significant action in part because injuries have become a tight end-dependent offense given their injuries at wide receiver.
It's big news because Crockett Gillmore was injured this week and Maxx Williams has been out of the lineup. This would leave the team with no TEs. The hope is Williams could return, but the banged up Ravens will certainly have to make a move this week.
