Washington beat writer John Keim picked Derrius Guice as his breakout player this season and had this to say about him, "Guice, a second-round pick in 2018, missed last season with a torn ACL, so durability will be a concern for him as well. However, the Redskins love what he adds as both a runner and a receiver. The Redskins also know their path to victory this season is through running the ball and playing good defense, and Guice is pivotal to that success. He'll split time with Adrian Peterson, but the Redskins know Guice could be electric, so his workload will increase."
Derrius Guice looked good in his first preseason game but he also had just been cleared to play last week. It would be nice to have some idea of the split in touches between Adrian Peterson and Guice, but it appears that it could be fairly even to start the season. The hope is that Guice should stay on the field more, as the better receiver of the two.
