Late in the first half of Thursday night’s game, Washington tight end Niles Paul caught a pass and then was crunched between a pair of Giants defenders. A helmet-to-helmet hit from safety Will Demps drew a flag — and also knocked Paul out of the game.
He laid on the ground for several minutes before being walked slowly to the locker room.
Paul was on his way to a nice game, posting 3-60 on four targets before the hit. He'll have to navigate his way through the NFL's concussion protocol, but the benefit of playing in the Thursday night game is that he'll have a few extra days to do so. Jordan Reed is considered questionable for Week 5, so Logan Paulsen is currently holding down the fort at the tight end position.
