Saints placing Michael Thomas on injured reserve, ending his regular season

The Saints are placing WR Michael Thomas on injured reserve as his ankle injury from Week 1 is still lingering.

Fantasy Impact:

Being put on injured reserve now means his regular season is over with three games left. But Thomas is expected to be ready for the start of the playoffs. All the more reason for the Saints to get the NFC's No. 1 seed and the first-round bye so Thomas can have an extra week to rest. Emmanuel Sanders and Tre'Quan Smith should see an uptick in targets, especially with Drew Brees back under center.

Eagles ruled out WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) for Sunday against the Rams.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a bit of a crapshoot as to who the "WR2" on the offense will be, but now that he's ruled out, Brown and Goedert should get a nice boost to their bottom line. That would lock Goedert into a no-doubt TE1 role in Week 12.
