Running back Chris Ivory (hamstring), defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove (knee), and tight end David Thomas (knee) all missed a second day of practice.
Ivory, who had hinted earlier in the week his problem was linked as much to cramps as it was his hamstring, took a PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection, Payton said, to bolster his chances of returning to action. The shot, which is supposed to boost soft tissue healing, requires the player to stay off his feet for 24 hours and Ivory will be evaluated Friday.
