Dez Bryant is back in the NFL, and he is joining one of the league's top Super Bowl contenders. The former Dallas Cowboys receiver has agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, a source confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday. Bryant's salary was not immediately known.
The signing of Bryant provides a slight boost to Drew Brees, who has another target to utilize. Bryant likely eats into Cameron Meredith’s workload. Sean Payton likes to have a speed receiver on the field, so TreQuan Smith’s role should be relatively safe. Bryant could become fantasy-viable if he’s able to carve out a big role, but there are so many mouths to feed in this offense that it will be tough for him to have any week-to-week consistency.
