With the Shonn Greene averaging just 2.8 yards per carry through the team’s first three games, Rex Ryan said Monday some early touches were “possible” for Bilal Powell or Joe McKnight.
“That’s certainly a possibility that we’ll look into,” said Ryan. “We’ll look at anything that will help our team. Has that been discussed? No.
“Well we’d like to get him going more. Without question we’d like to see him get that average up around 4 yards per carry.”
Powell presumably would be the one to get the work, since he beat out McKnight in camp to earn the number-two spot. Powell has averaged four yards a carry. Ryan said the team hasn't discussed it yet, so this could be a warning - for now.
