Sirianni: 'I don't know that yet' if WR A.J. Brown will miss multiple weeks
The Eagles played without wide receiver A.J. Brown in Monday night’s loss to the Falcons and Brown suggested that the team is going to continue playing without him for a while.
Brown told Lisa Salters of ESPN that he will miss a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. Head coach Nick Sirianni didn’t confirm that during his postgame press conference, however.
“We’ll see. We’ll see,” Sirianni said, via a transcript from the team. “I don’t know that yet. You know I won’t give you that information yet because I don’t know. We’ll see how that goes.”
Brown made it seem like he'd at least miss Weeks 2 and 3 based on the interview. As we pointed out Monday night after the news broke, the Eagles do have a Week 5 bye, leaving the possibility the Eagles keep Brown out until after the bye week, if injury is serious enough or they want to play it very safe. Sirianni is at least leaving the door open Brown is back before the team's bye. It will be a situation worth monitoring this week. The Eagles play at the Saints in an early Sunday game in Week 3.
