Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he will make a decision on the starting quarterback “by the end of the work week.”
"We've got three days of Steelers versus Steelers work and why not do it then?" Tomlin said.. "It kind of minimizes the Steelers versus Steelers work when we start making decisions prior to the completion of that. We've got ample time to prepare for Atlanta and make whatever decisions or announcements regarding divisional labor or pecking orders and so forth.
Russell Wilson and Justin Fields have both gone through ups and downs throughout the preseason, neither seemingly taking a hold of the job over the other. Whoever lands the job will face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, a team that has recently added veterans Matt Judon and Justin Simmons.
