The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their starting quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger suffered an injury to his throwing arm toward the end of the first half against the Seattle Seahawks.

During the fourth quarter, running back James Conner limped off the field and went into the medical tent.

No update was given on either player the story said. Roethlisberger appeared to injure is right elbow. Conner appeared to be holding his left knee. He did not return with a knee injury. Rudolph would take over if Ben can't go Week 3, while Samuels and Snell would battle it out for touches in the backfield.

Devin Funchess, who signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts in the offseason, suffered a broken collarbone in Sunday's overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He had three catches for 32 yards.

NFL.com had the initial report. It also reported that Funchess will seek a second opinion but that surgery is likely.

Funchess is listed as the team's WR2 meaning rookie Campbell could now see a bump in playing time and targets as a result of Funchess' injury. Rogers, Pascal and Cain all move up the depth chart as well.

Once again, Lamar Jackson finds Miles Boykin deep down the sideline. Boykin, a third-round pick, is having a fantastic start to camp.

Boykin is taking advantage of his situation. First-round pick Brown is still out with a foot injury so he's mainly competing against Snead and Moore. We already had Boykin as the third WR among the Ravens, but keep in mind this is going to be a run-first team and it's only early in camp.

Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley told "The Dan Patrick Show" in March that Kyler Murray was "a tremendous leader" a sentiment Larry Fitzgerald concurs.

Fitzgerald was impressed by Murray's immediate confidence with the Cardinals during their three-day minicamp in June.

"I know him running Lincoln Riley's offense (at Oklahoma) is very similar to what Coach Kliff Kingsbury runs, but on the first day he's calling audibles and getting us in plays that are favorable to the offense," Fitzgerald told SI. "So I was really impressed by his ability to take a leadership position first day at offense. I was impressed with how smart he is, how determined he is. His future is extremely bright."

Murray said he probably knows the system better than anyone on the Cardinals right now, but added that's his job. Fitz mentioned Murray makes the audibles quickly, and once the players adjust, the offense will run faster. Murray is already a top-10 QB in our rankings coming in 10th and we obviously think he has a shot to put up QB1 numbers in his first season.

Jaylen Samuels isn't sure when or how he'll share the same backfield with James Conner on game days. Samuels just knows "little two-back sets" are going to happen at some point, and he can't wait to see it.

"I’m pretty sure it’s going to be something special put into the offense," Samuels said. "They will have us start off in the backfield or I can start out wide or motion out."

Feeling refreshed after knee and ankle injuries over the past two years, Conner is prepared for a workhorse role. Meanwhile, Samuels wants to show he's more than just a pass catcher. But as the story said, the Steelers typically have embraced the workhorse-back model. In Conner's rookie year, he was second on the team with 32 carries. Not a single No. 2 tailback surpassed 100 carries in a season when Bell played 12 or more games. Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman in 2012 comprised the team's last true split attack. DeAngelo Williams thrived when LeVeon Bell was out of the lineup but didn't play much when Bell was healthy.
