Vikings downgraded RB Alexander Mattison to out for Sunday against the Jaguars with an illness.

With Mattison out, Ameer Abdullah and Mike Boone will back up Dalvin Cook, who has been getting all the work in the backfield.

The Patriots have placed WR Julian Edelman on the Covid-19 list.

Edelman is on IR because of a knee injury. We're not sure if Edelman has tested positive or was in close contact with someone who is positive but it looks like the Pats will be using Meyes, Byrd and Harry as their top WRs.

Mike Zimmer said he received a report that Dalvin Cook is feeling “pretty good,” per Ben Goessling of the Minnsota Star-Tribune.

Cook had to exit Sunday’s win over the Panthers with an ankle injury, but was able to reenter the game later in the second half. It didn't look good at first as Cook needed to be helped off the field. Minnesota’s facility is closed on Monday, according to the story, so we'll hopefully have more detailed information later this week. Cook owners should probably have him handcuffed with Mattison.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said after Sunday’s loss to the Steelers he didn’t know who would start at quarterback next week.

Luton has struggled in three starts replacing Minshew. The rookie has thrown for 624 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions. According to the story, Minshew has told Marrone his thumb is 100 percent, Marrone said Monday. But the coach said, via John Reid of the Florida Times Union, that he will wait to see Minshew throw this week before making a decision on the starting quarterback, the story said.

Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew is questionable to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to John Oehser of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
