Aaron Rodgers has said many times that expectations need to be “reasonable” for the rookie WRs.

Romeo Doubs, based on how well he’s played during camp, raised those expectations.

“The standard for him is not going to be the standard for a normal rookie we’ve had here in the past.”

Doubs continues to earn high praise from Rodgers, something that's been going on for a while. While Doubs has had a bad drop or two, Rodgers seems willing to live with it based on the rest of his performance in camp, as well as his skillset. Now that Watson is back from injury, he should continue to climb our rankings as well. But for now, Doubs looks like the Packers rookie WR to own heading into the season.

One pleasant surprise thus far in camp has TE Tyler Conklin. Coming off his best season of his career last season with the Minnesota Vikings, Conklin has quickly built a strong connection in camp with QB Zach Wilson.

The story went on to say the early look is that Conklin will be a favorite red-zone target for the Jets’ offense. He may quietly have yet another career year in his first season with the Jets. The Jets also have former Bengal Uzomah who is a red zone target himself, along with the rookie Ruckert. Conklin is well down our TE list at 29th, so right now he's only a consideration in deeper leagues, or those that utilize multiple TE slots.

Romeo Doubs has seemingly passed every test the Packers have thrown at him.

Demovsky said Doubs has passed tests in practice, the preseason opener and now joint practice vs. the Saints where he scored on a toe-tapping TD on an out from QB Aaron Rodgers. Given Doubs’ play in camp, he’s now the favorite to start in two- and three-receiver sets alongside Lazard. He is creeping up the rankings and is now worthy of a pick in the 12th or 13th round given the constant drumbeat of positive news.

Robert Saleh said RB Michael Carter had a small ankle injury yesterday.

Carter isn't practicing Tuesday. However the tweet went on to quote Saleh, who said, "It was precautionary more than anything."

In all seriousness, Aaron Rodgers is very high on Allen Lazard as he ascends into a new role in Packers offense: “Who I don’t think we need any patience with is Allen. I really think Allen is ready to make a jump and be a No. 1 receiver.”

Someone will end up as the team's WR1 and Lazard at least has a decent chance to earn the role. But we only rank Lazard 50th among our WRs. The 26-year-old Lazard had a career-high 513 yards last season, but managed 45.1 yards per game in 2020, which is a 767-yard pace over a 17-game season. He’s unlikely to turn into a 1,200+ yard receiver, but 1,000 yards is a possibility this season as the Packers’ receiving room tries to absorb the loss of Davante Adams. In 2020, his yards per route run (1.84) ranked 32nd out of 101 eligible receivers at PFF, so there are indicators that he’s capable of more than we’ve seen from him thus far.

The Green Bay Packers are signing WR Sammy Watkins to a one-year deal.

Watkins continues to be an injury risk but will be playing with his second legendary quarterback in his career. If Watkins can somehow become relevant with Aaron Rodgers, he could be a steal as a late round flyer.

The Green Bay Packers have traded WR Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for draft picks. Adams has agreed to a multi-year deal with the Raiders.

This is a left turn as Adams said he would not play on the franchise tag. Adams reunites with Derek Carr, his college teammate. Adams has shown his ability to produce regardless of QB. The Packers are now anemic at wideout.

The New Your Jets have signed TE Tyler Conklin.

Conklin has played more as a back-up than starter, but has shown he can be fantasy-viable in spurts. He should run behind Uzomah in terms or routes, targets, and catches, and will be asked to block more.

The Giants and QB Tyrod Taylor have agreed on a two-year deal.

Taylor's arrival is not nearly the competition Mitch Trubisky would have been, but Taylor is much better than Mike Glennon. Taylor should not be rostered unless he usurps Daniel Jones.

The Green Bay Packers have placed their franchise tag on WR Davante Adams.

With Aaron Rodgers back in the fold, one would imagine the Packers try to sign Adams for however long they sign Rodgers. Arguably the best 1-2 combo on offense is back together in Green Bay.
