The Green Bay Packers are not treating rookie 3rd-round pick Amari Rodgers like a rookie according to Tom Silverstein of PackersNews.com. "Almost every practice, Rodgers gets a considerable amount of snaps and a good portion of them are with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback," wrote Silverstein.

“He will be more in the slot, and then we'll use him doing some of the jet sweep stuff and whatnot,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said. “But I'm excited about where he could go. And we got a very, very, very competitive room."

Rodgers will have competition in the slot with Randall Cobb back in town, but Cobb is helping mentor Rodgers. The two are connected by Rodgers' dad Tee Martin, who coached Cobb in college. Silverstein is a locked in reporter and is watching Amari handle first-team snaps daily. What is unknown if this puts Rodgers in a snaps heat with Cobb, or help lock Rodgers in to a larger role than Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Allen Lazard and company.

A welcome-back gift for Aaron Rodgers: the Texans are trading former Packers’ WR Randall Cobb back to Green Bay, per Randall Cobb. Cobb has been a longtime favorite of Rodgers.

Randall Cobb spent his first eight seasons in Green Bay as Aaron Rodgers' main slot weapon. The trade is great news for Rodgers and Cobb, but not so great for rookie Amari Rodgers, who was assumed to be taking on the slot role in Green Bay in 2021. Consider Cobb a WR3/4.

The Rams were allegedly turned down when inquiring about the 37-year old QB last week, and this statement also makes it appear that Aaron Rodgers will be in a Packer uniform in 2021. Hopefully, they make some solid draft choices in April to help the projected 2020 league MVP.

In what might be Kyle Rudolph’s last season with the Vikings, the tight end will not be able to play in Week 17.

Minnesota announced on Tuesday that it placed Rudolph on IR. The Vikings still have Irv Smith Jr., Tyler Conklin and Hale Hentges at the tight end position, barring any of those three suffering injuries.

With Smith coming on as the team's top TE target, Rudolph may be out in 2021. Smith had a huge game on Christmas Day, posting a 6-53-2 line. For the season he has 28 catches for 335 yards and five TDs, but three of those TDs and 153 yards have come over the last three weeks.
