Giants head coach Brian Daboll just said it’s possible Saquon Barkley’s status for Sunday is in doubt. He hopes he will play but his neck is sore, so he will see.

It's a huge loss for the Eagles. Stoll and Calcaterra are next up on the depth chart, but the team also announced they've activated Jackson from the PUP list. We briefly talked about Jackson in our news section Tuesday. He's a former QB with a ton of athleticism, but not much experience. Jackson did flash in Week 18 of last season where he caught three balls for 22 yards and a TD before tearing his ACL. Some feel he could be the favorite to fill in for Goedert.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will miss extended time with a shoulder injury he suffered during Monday night's loss to the Washington Commanders, NFL Network Insiders Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday, per sources.

Garafolo and Pelissero added that Goedert's injury won't end his season. This is a potential huge loss for the Eagles who don't have a lot of depth behind Geodert. Jackson is a big, athletic prospect but is recently coming off the IR. In the short term, Stoll and Calcaterra could fill in.

The New York Giants will discuss contract extensions for Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley during their bye week.

"We'll have those meetings this week," general manager Joe Schoen confirmed Tuesday.

Both players have come a long way this year given their struggles and injury history. Jones, 25, was a first-round pick (sixth overall) in 2019 and has completed 63.1 percent of his passes this season for 1,399 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions in eight starts. Barkley, 25, was a first-rounder (second overall) in 2018 and currently is second in the NFL with 779 rushing yards. He has five rushing touchdowns and 28 catches for 189 yards in eight games, the story said.

Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth, QB Kenny Pickett, and CB Levi Wallace have been cleared and are no longer in concussion protocol.

It's uncertain at this time if Pickett will regain the starting role from Mitch Trubisky but Freiermuth will assuredly send Zach Gentry deep down the depth chart. During the starting TE's absence, Gentry managed to accrue four yards on one reception. Freiermuth is right back to a top-ten option against a Dolphins defense that ranks 22nd in aFPA to the tight end position.

Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Kenny Golladay (knee) are both not practicing again today. Saquon Barkley (shoulder) is limited again.

Whether physical or behind-the-scenes issues are truly to blame here, this is beginning to feel like a lost season for Toney unless the team is able to fire up a trade in the next couple of weeks. The former first-round pick has exactly two receptions in 2022, coming off the heels of trade rumors throughout the offseason. Hopefully this will continue to leave the door open for Wan'Dale Robinson to become a true fantasy option.

As Steelers coach Mike Tomlin promised, QB Kenny Pickett (concussion) was a full participant today.

The Steelers said if PIckett clears protocol he'll be the starter against Miami in Week 7. This certainly indicates he's on his way to getting the nob. Trubisky would be back under center if there are any setbacks. Keep in mind, this is a Sunday night game.
