Chargers RB Mike Tolbert, who tested his hamstring extensively at Arrowhead Stadium before Monday night’s game, is expected to return.
The status of Ryan Mathews, who injured his groin and left Monday’s game in the fourth quarter, and Curtis Brinkley, who suffered a concussion near the end of the game, won’t be known until later in the week. It is feared that Mathews will miss his first game of the season.
Mathews has been knocked out of portions of three games this season with thumb, calf and groin injuries. He has yet to not be available for game, however, and ranks seventh in the league with 851 scrimmage yards.
Green Bay is not a good matchup for opposing RBs, but Tolbert will be starter-worthy if Mathews and Brinkley are both sidelined due to a potentially huge workload.
