The New England Patriots issued their first injury report of the season Monday, and there was a notable takeaway:
Patriots running back Travaris Cadet, who injured his hamstring early in training camp and didn't appear in a preseason game, was a full participant. That reflects that he's close to returning to game action.
Cadet flashed at times before his injury, showing a knack for catching the ball (he was a receiver at Appalachian State) and his speed was also hard to miss.
He should factor into the mix on third down as well.
Cadet also flashed with the Saints last year when filling in for Pierre Thomas. Unfortunately for Cadet, he joins James White (2014 fourth-round pick) and exciting four-year veteran Dion Lewis as one of three pass-catching running backs on the roster.
