Stephens-Howlings in 2010?

Larod Stephens-howling was about to enter his senior year at Pittsburgh when coach Dave Wannstedt asked him to play special teams.

Stephens-Howling, the Panthers' former starting running back, could have balked, but he chose to embrace the role, figuring it would help his team and make him more attractive to NFL scouts.

It was a wise decision. Stephens-Howling's special teams ability was a big reason the Cardinals drafted him in the seventh round, and he hasn't disappointed.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt envisions Stephens-Howling in a bigger role in coming seasons.
