Stacking the Deck: FanDuel & DraftKings Stacks for Week 5
Welcome back to Stacking the Deck.
This season at 4for4 we will be providing subscribers with Value Reports and Stack Value Reports that value every stack in terms of projected points/$. We also use our Adjusted Fantasy Points Against (aFPA) metric, which has been adjusted to reflect offseason transactions, heavily in the column.
What’s new this year is we know have the have the advantage of putting into practice two great offseason studies from my colleague, Senior DFS Editor, Chris Raybon: The Definitive Guide to Stacking on FanDuel and The Definitive Guide to Stacking on DraftKings.
Now that we are in Week 5, it is time to use 2016 data a bit more heavily in our analysis and leave preconceived notions from 2015 further in the rearview mirror. Things we have seen through four weeks can give us a strong idea of ideal situations to target in tournaments and what players could be highly owned. This gives us a ton of leverage opportunities and ways to use roster construction to separate from the pack.
Hopefully you have been following along. We've had some nice hits though four weeks: Brees-Snead in Week 1, Rivers-Benjamin in Week 2, Rodgers-Nelson in Week 3, and Roethlisberger-Brown in Week 4, to name a few.
Let's keep it rolling. The following are my top stacks for Week 5 on both FanDuel and DraftKings:
FanDuel Stacks
Ryan Fitzpatrick ($6,900) & Brandon Marshall ($7,600) @ PIT
Quarterback and WR1 have a .45 correlation on FanDuel, the strongest of all positions. The Jets are a road dog, which historically gives Marshall a nice boost. The Jets have a mid-ranged team total of 20.5, but the second-highest game total of the week (48). Marshall has a ceiling of 24.6 in our projections, fifth highest on the slate at wide receiver. Marshall should remain the focal point of this Jets passing game with Decker out and faces a Pittsburgh secondary that ranks 20th in Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points (aFPA).
