Week 6 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Friday
Bears QB Jay Cutler (right thumb, doubtful) missed practice all week and is doubtful for Week 6. Brian Hoyer is playing well and should continue to start, even when Jay Cutler gets fully healthy.
Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo (right shoulder, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 6.
Browns QB Cody Kessler (chest, rib) took full practice reps again Friday. Kessler will start Week 6.
Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week. Luck will be fine for Week 6.
Browns QB Josh McCown (left shoulder, out) took limited practice reps all week and is out for Week 6.
Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion, questionable) took full practice reps again Friday and is questionable for Week 6. Newton needs to get final clearance from a neurologist, but is expected to make his return in a nice matchup with the Saints.
Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (concussion) took full practice reps again Friday. Palmer is expected to return this week. It’s good news for the entire Arizona offense.
Jets QB Bryce Petty (right shoulder) took full practice reps again Friday.
Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 6.
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle, knee) took full practice reps again Thursday. Wilson “looks great,” per HC Pete Carroll. We’re expecting Wilson to be more mobile in Week 6.
