Hospital releases Cowboys' DeMarcus Ware

Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware was resting at home Sunday night after being examined at a local hospital with what the team said was a sprained neck.

Rushing the quarterback at full speed, Ware stumbled and hit the left hip of Chargers guard Brandyn Dombrowski with the crown of his helmet during the fourth quarter.

Ware remained on the turf for about 10 minutes while receiving medical attention. As he was taken off the field on a gurney, Ware gave the thumbs-up symbol and also formed a "W" with the fingers of his left hand.

Cowboys owner-general manager Jerry Jones did not know the extent of the injury but was optimistic. Doctors told Jones that Ware had full movement in his extremities.

"The doctors felt good while they were down there with him," Jones said.
