The Colts have plenty of speed at receiver in T.Y. Hilton and Phillip Dorsett, but the two of them lack the size Donte Moncrief (6-foot-2) has.
Moncrief is the possession receiver the Colts lacked while he was out because he can go get the ball in coverage in the middle of the field or in the end zone. He's tied for seventh on the Colts in receptions with 14 and he's fifth in receiving yards. He has three touchdown receptions while only playing four games this season. You can expect Luck to look for Moncrief even more now that he's healthy.
Moncrief said he and Luck spend ample time working on back-shoulder catches during the individual portion of practice. The play where Moncrief caught his touchdown against the Packers was supposed to be a run, but Luck called an audible when he noticed the way the safety was "tilted," which left the throw open to the backside for Moncrief. This could potentially be a good sign of things to come for Moncrief owners.
