We're heading into the stretch run of the season. There are, yet again, six teams on bye this week, so scouring the waiver wire will continue to be important. If you have the depth, I provide a few suggestions of guys who might be available for you to stash below. Once we take a look at the Week 9 waiver wire options we can move on to worthwhile Week 9 IDP matchup plays.
Week 9 teams on bye: Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota, New England, and Pittsburgh,
Week 9 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups
Defensive Line
Tyrone Crawford, DE, Dallas Cowboys (36 snaps/61%)
Crawford has taken advantage of his snaps over the last few weeks and is thriving playing alongside David Irving and DeMarcus Lawrence. Since the bye week, he's recorded consecutive weeks of double-digit fantasy points and at least a sack. If your league scoring favors big plays, he'll be a target this week.
Grady Jarrett, DT, Atlanta Falcons (47 snaps/77%)
Jarrett is worth the pickup in DT-required leagues. In the three games after the bye week, Jarrett has notched 16 tackles and was involved in his first sack of the season against the Jets. If his pressure rate continues to increase, the sacks could come in bunches in the second half of the season.
Leger Douzable, DE, San Francisco 49ers (57 snaps/81%)
Douzable has some value over the next few weeks with Solomon Thomas on the shelf. Last week, Douzable was in on 81% of the snaps against the Eagles after appearing in 63% of the snaps in Week 7. He's coming off a 5-solo/2-sack performance. There is sack upside with Douzable this week against Arizona if he sees an 80% usage rate.
