Rookie quarterback Pat White, who was knocked out of Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh by a brutal hit along the sideline, is undergoing tests at the hospital that revealed a likely concussion, according to a source familiar with the situation.
White should be OK, the source said, but could remain overnight for observation.
White’s injury occurred with 2:12 remaining in the third quarter of the Dolphins’ 30-24, casting a chill over the stadium as medical personnel spent several minutes attending to the 23-year-old rookie.
Ultimately, medical personnel strapped White to a backboard and carted him off the field. Miami was forced to punt on the next play, paving the way for third-stringer Tyler Thigpen’s near heroics.

“I was hoping it would clear up,” Henne said. “I just didn’t have (depth) perception on the ball. I was throwing fine on the sideline. I just couldn’t really visualize my throw.”
Henne said it will be treated as an eye injury and he’ll see an eye doctor Monday.
