15 IDP Risers & Fallers After Preseason Week 3

With Week 3 of the preseason in the books, some position battles and situations have become a little clearer. Week 3 gave us a glimpse of what to expect for the regular season. Below is a quick look at some individual defensive players (IDP) whose stock has risen or fallen.

IDP Risers

Skai Moore, ILB, IND

Moore took full advantage of Anthony Walker's injury, calling plays for the Colts on defense. He ended up playing 92 preseason snaps and produced a 15.2-percent tackle rate—resulting in 14 total tackles. Antonio Morrison just got traded to Green Bay, so the path to a three-down role has opened up.

Anthony Hitchens, ILB, KC

Hitchens was signed by KC during the offseason. With Derrick Johnson headed to Oakland, there was an assumption he'd slide into his role. After missing the first two preseason games, Hitchens shook off the rust in a big way and played in 43 snaps against Chicago in the third week of the preseason. He finished with seven solo tackles—resulting in a 16.3-percent tackle rate. The Chiefs defense is going to be on the field quite a bit and Hitchens always seems to be around the ball. He could be this season's Demario Davis.

Kenny Young, ILB, BAL

Patrick Onwuasor was the incumbent, but Kenny Young has turned in a solid preseason. I wrote him up as a rookie LB to target back in May and he's pulled even with Onwuasor for snaps opposite CJ Mosley. Young has been on the field for 154 defensive snaps and notched 18 tackles—resulting in an 11.7-percent tackle rate. He even added a sack. Keep an eye on this battle over the next few weeks to see who's named the starter.
