Streaming Defenses: Week 2 Targets

Generally, defenses have to be available on the waiver wire in at least 40 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues to be eligible as a streaming option. This ensures we are talking about defenses that are readily available.

Last week, our deeper league streamer, the Cleveland Browns, finished with 16 points and were the DST3 in most scoring formats. The Titans put up a respectable 11 points and were the DST11. Overall, our targets averaged 10.5 fantasy points.

Continue to target a defense with a home matchup who is the favorite facing a team with a low implied team total. We also want to target offenses with a below average or rookie QB. Week 2 is here, so let's look at the defensive options we're targeting this week.

Top Streaming Picks

Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Bears have a chance to go from weekly streamer to a weekly defense. Over the next few weeks, they have favorable matchups according to our Defense Hot Spots tool, so if you're able to grab them this week, continue to play them until Week 7.

Akiem Hicks will be bringing the pressure up front and has a favorable matchup with Germain Ifedi, Seattle's right tackle. In this matchup, Hicks has multi-sack upside.

The Bears are a pressure threat with Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd. Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan can fly to the ball. The Bears can generate pressure and turnovers anywhere from their front-seven. Mack generated a near 19 percent pressure rate while producing a sack/TD/forced fumble in his first game with the Bears.

Kyle Fuller can turn the ball over at any time. After producing four INTs in his rookie year, he has that many over the last two seasons, however, he's coming off a 2017 season where he produced 22 defended pass, so he's a capable ball tracker.

According to our Defense SOS tool, this is a neutral matchup, but the Seahawks are making the cross-country trip.
