The first psychological salvos of Super Bowl XLIV have been fired -- and they're aimed at Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.

But mild-mannered Colts coach Jim Caldwell, much like predecessor Tony Dungy, isn't the kind of guy to get into a war of words.

New Orleans defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, speaking earlier in the week on a Tennessee sports talk radio show, said the Saints will need to deliver some "remember me" shots on Manning and added, "you hope he doesn't get back up and play again" at Sun Life Stadium on Feb. 7th.

Caldwell, asked specifically about Williams' statements this morning, said, "I just think that comments that individuals make, we can't control that. They use whatever motivational tools they'd like to. And that's up to him. I'm not going to pass judgment on anything he says. We're going to focus in on what we do and go from there."
