New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez ran on the treadmill for the first time since his knee surgery Thursday, according to NFL Network’s Lindsay Soto.
Sanchez had a procedure on his left knee Feb. 17 to repair the patella ligament. He said two weeks ago that he hoped to be running on the ground sometime around mid-May, so it appears he’s ahead of schedule.
Sanchez hopes to participate in the Jets’ June 14-16 minicamp. He isn’t in danger of missing training camp.
Seems like there won't be any worries for Sanchez heading into training camp. He'll most likely be drafted as a backup this season, but with potential to be a fantasy starter, perhaps in certain matchups. The tandem of RB Shonn Greene and RB LaDainian Tomlinson still make the Jets and run-first team.
