Brohm Gets Shot in Buffalo

Brian Brohm was the quarterback as Buffalo's first minicamp of the spring kicked off. The camp was for rookies and players with less than two years of experience, but it signals that Brohm will get an opportunity to battle Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trent Edwards, and rookie Levi Brown for the starting quarterback spot in Buffalo. Bills coach Chan Gailey says it's a wide-open competition.

"There's not a first or a third right now," Gailey said. "That's the situation. We're going to go to camp with it being an open deal. If you say that, then it's gotta be. You can't just say it and then get to camp and you already got your mind made up or you stack it up a different way. To me anybody has a chance to win the job right now. That's really the way it is. It's not just lip service."

Fantasy Impact:

It's good Gailey is keeping an open mind about his quarterbacks, but Buffalo's starter isn't likely to make much of a fantasy splash. The winner needs to do enough to keep defenses from keying on C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson and also needs to find a way to get Lee Evans the ball, as Evans could make a minor comeback this year with Terrell Owens gone.
