Streaming Defenses: Week 15 Targets
Last week, the Detroit defense finished with 18 fantasy points and were the DEF2 in most scoring formats. Through 14 weeks, our streaming targets are averaging 9.3 fantasy points per game.
This week, we have a few defenses in favorable spots against bad offenses.
Generally, defenses have to be available on the waiver wire in at least 40 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues to be eligible as a streaming option. This ensures we are talking about defenses that are readily available. Week 15 is in our sights, and hopefully you've advanced in your playoffs, so let's see who we're targeting this week:
Top Streaming Targets
Washington Redskins @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Redskins continue to be under-owned and find themselves with a great matchup against the Jaguars.
Jonathan Allen and Da'Ron Payne continue to be stuffers up front. Matt Ioannidis has also been a burden for opposing QBs. Allen and Ioannidis have combined for 12.5 sacks and 23 QB hits.
Preston Smith has sacks in three of the last four games, while Ryan Kerrigan has produced eight total sacks this season. Kerrigan and Smith have combined to generate an 11.3 percent QB pressure rate from the edge, so they are a threat to get to the QB and produce for the defense.
DJ Swearinger is the big play safety, as he's making a play on the ball 36 percent of the time he's thrown at, resulting in four INTs and 10 defended passes. He's also been responsible for three forced fumbles.
The QB play is ugly on both sides of the ball here, but I like Washington to make things uncomfortable for Cody Kessler this week. Jacksonville's offensive line continues to give up sacks and there are playmakers who can generate turnovers on Washington. Jacksonville is ranked 29th in aFPA to the defensive position heading into Week 15.
