QB Chad Pennington Remains A Spectator

With the emergence of Chad Henne as Miami's starting quarterback, former starter Chad Pennington is taking on the role of mentor while he rehabs a shoulder injury. And Pennington is fine with that.

“I’m actually really OK with that,” Pennington said. "I know what we’re trying to get accomplished here as a team. I appreciate that perspective to where I don’t have to throw myself in the fire in May."

Pennington is hoping his shoulder will be in good shape when training camp rolls around. Right now, Miami head coach Tony Sparano is aiming to limit him to 40-55 passes per practice.

"Things really get heated up in August and that’s when I want to be at my best," Pennington said. "It would be crazy for us to come out here and do something to jeopardize that."

Fantasy Impact:

Pennington has never been an elite fantasy quarterback and no longer warrants a place on fantasy rosters.
