Oakland Raiders WR Antonio Brown had his helmet grievance ruled against him Monday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schefter also reports it is “unlikely” Brown will appeal the decision.
The decision means Brown must either comply with the NFL’s helmet policy or not play at all. Brown took to Instagram after the ruling and said “while I disagree with the arbitrator’s decision, I’m working on getting back to full health and looking forward to rejoining my teammates on the field. I’m excited about this season, appreciate all the concerns about my feet.” That at least sounds like Brown will eventually return to the Raiders at some point, hopefully before the regular season begins, especially since he is unlikely to appeal the decision. Perhaps Brown is willing to put all this behind him and begin focusing on the upcoming season. We can only hope that he does.
