19 IDP Risers & Fallers After Preseason Week 3

Preseason Week 3 is in the books, which means, that was probably the last you'll see of the starters until Week 1 kicks off. Just wrap everyone in bubble wrap and wait until the games count. Week 3 gave us a good idea of who's going to get starts and playing time as the regular season approaches, and it also means some guys we liked aren't going to have the role that was projected. Injuries have also had an impact on who's stock is rising and falling—it's just part of the game.

So, here is whose IDP stock is rising and falling as we head into Week 1 of the regular season.

IDP Risers

Josh Allen, DE, Jacksonville Jaguars

This is a combination of his preseason play and position designation. Allen looks like he's going to have the DE/DL tag on MFL, at least for 2019. Sure, the Miami offense isn't a great barometer to measure potential, but Allen still dominated the Dolphins and has packed together a solid preseason. Over 65 preseason snaps, he's generated a 21.2% pressure rate. Playing alongside guys like Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue, he's poised for a DL3-type season.

Jaquiski Tartt, SS, San Francisco 49ers

Tartt is healthy and looks like a heat-seeking missile on the field. Most important, he looks healthy. He had a solid game against the Broncos in Week 2 but played just 25 snaps in Week 3 as he prepares for the regular season. He's going to be asked to cover tight ends, and what better tight end to practice against than George Kittle. I really like Tartt as a DB2 this season.

Sam Eguaoven, OLB, Miami Dolphins

The Eguaoven hype-train is about to leave the station. This guy's play has stood out the entire preseason, and it's made Raekwon McMillan and Kiko Alonso expendable, according to reports out of South Beach. After recording just one tackle in Week 1, he has notched 11 tackles since, resulting in a 12.6% tackle rate over the last two weeks. If I'm in a draft, I'm targeting him as an LB4 and he should be a Week 1 waiver wire target if undrafted.

D.J. Swearinger, SS, Arizona Cardinals

This is one of the reasons you can stream or wait on DB. Swearinger is going to be Arizona's box safety—he's played 21 of his 36 preseason snaps up near the line of scrimmage. He'll play some free safety, however, he'll be tasked to take on tight ends and make plays in the run. The Cardinals have some weaknesses at LB, so he should be busy stopping pass-catching backs. Over 36 preseason snaps, he's recording a 16.7% tackle rate and I'm targeting him as a potential DB3.
