IDP Matchups & Sleepers: Week 3

Each week, I'm going to go through our IDP rankings and look at some of the top matchups and sleeper picks for the week at each position. My IDP brother-in-arms, Ross Miles, will have your IDP waiver wire covered. Now, let's see what Week 3 has in store for us.

Linebacker

Blake Martinez, ILB, Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos

Martinez has had a nice start to the season - recording 20 tackles (15 solos) for a 14.7% tackle rate. He's really the only linebacker making tackles for the defense. I like the matchup heading into Week 3 against the Broncos. Opposing ILBs have been a favorable matchup for the Broncos early on - they've been averaging 10 solo tackles per game. Martinez is a weekly starter but I love the matchup this week - especially tackle heavy formats.

Alec Ogletree, ILB, New York Giants vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Ogletree is boring, but productive. He should be able to improve upon his 11 tackles this week against the Buccaneers. The Giants defense should find themselves on the field for around 70 snaps. He should be matched up on tight ends Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, while concentrating on Peyton Barber. Through the first two games, Tampa's offense is yielding nearly 11 solo tackles per game. I think Ogletree has LB2 upside this week.

Jayon Brown, ILB, Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Brown atoned for his sins of Week 1. After recording just two tackles against Cleveland, he racked up 10 against the Colts - resulting in a 14.5% tackle rate. Brown is going to busy with Leonard Fournette. The Jags are a favorable matchup for opposing ILBs, as they are allowing 12 solo tackles to the position.

Eric Kendricks, ILB, Minnesota Vikings vs. Oakland Raiders

Eric Kendricks is another LB in a favorable matchup in Week 3, as he should be able to build upon his 9.8% tackle rate. Last week, he recorded eight tackles against the Packers. Kendricks should find himself in position to make tackles against a Raider offense allowing 14 tackles per game to opposing LBs.

Sleeper

Nigel Bradham, ILB, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Detroit Lions

Bradham is a sleeper - as in he's boring and will put you to sleep. I love the matchup this week against a high-paced Lions team averaging 69 offensive snaps per game. Through two games he's recording an 8.3% tackle rate, but I like the upside to increase his efficiency. Bradham should be busy tackling Kerryon Johnson, in the run and pass - especially now that C.J. Anderson is out of the picture. The Lions are allowing 16 tackles per game to opposing LBs through the first two weeks.
