Trader's Alley: Week 6 Buy Low, Sell High and Hold
Week 5 brought us several game-winning performances from individual players, with six players crossing the 30-point mark and only two of those were quarterbacks (Deshaun Watson, Matt Ryan). This could set up a number of trade-worthy scenarios, and I touch on one of those players below. For the most part, the analysis on some of those high-scorers (Christian McCaffrey, Michael Thomas, Chris Godwin) is pretty straightforward – you hold onto that player. As for the others, well, you'll have to read on and find out.
Below you'll find my Buy Low, Sell High, and Hold recommendations heading into Week 6. As always, don’t forget to use the 4for4 Trade Evaluator to try and mine even more value out of your moves. And remember, these recommendations aren’t meant to be end-all, be-all decisions on players. I’m simply trying to highlight players who could help you come out ahead in fantasy trades.
Buy Low
RB – Mark Ingram, Baltimore Ravens
After a hot start to the season, Ingram has slowed down a bit, barely scoring as an RB3 over the last two weeks (ranks RB29 in PPR scoring in that span). The Ravens offense has hit some bumps in the road facing better defenses, but the upcoming matchups for Ingram look like a straightaway where he can get back on track. Two of his next four games are against the Bengals, who currently concede the second-most rushing yards (642) and second-most rushing touchdowns to backs (six) on the season. He also has two tougher opponents with the Seahawks and Patriots wedged in there, but after that, he faces the Texans and Rams, two teams who have had issues stopping the run this year. Following that run (or at the end of it, depending on your league’s trading deadline) it might be time to flip Ingram as he has to face the 49ers and Bills near the start of the fantasy playoffs, and the Cleveland Browns (who have a strong defensive line) in Week 16.
