Trader's Alley: Week 12 Buy Low, Sell High and Hold
Well, this is it, folks. Our last ride together through Trader’s Alley for the 2019 season. If your trade deadline hasn’t already hit, it assuredly will this week (or shortly thereafter). It has been a pleasure trying to guide you all through some trade candidates all season long. My sincere hope is that many of the suggestions paid dividends for your teams and you’re in a position to contest for a fantasy championship. Not all of my recommendations were slam dunks, but there were certainly some good calls along the way too. But enough bloviating, as you really aren’t here for that. No, you’ve come for one last round of suggestions. So without further adieu, let’s get to it.
Below are my Buy Low, Sell High, and Hold recommendations heading into Week 12. As always, don’t forget to use the 4for4 Trade Evaluator to try and mine even more value out of your moves. And remember, these recommendations aren’t meant to be end-all, be-all decisions on players. I’m simply trying to highlight players who could help you come out ahead in fantasy trades.
Buy Low
RB – Saquon Barkley, New York Giants
Barkley was on his bye in Week 11, but the last time we saw New York’s generational running back he left us with a worrisome fantasy performance. Barkley rushed the ball 13 times for one yard, while adding five catches for 30 yards. Yes, Barkley looked to be dealing with the high ankle sprain that he came back in super-human time from earlier in the season, but any way you slice it this performance had fantasy managers across the country panicking. That’s why it’s time to strike.
The bye week could do wonders for Barkley health-wise, but we won’t know until he’s back on the field. If he does heal up, the volume is still there for him to produce like the elite talent he is. In his last four games back from injury Barkley owns a near 18% target share while seeing 97% of the running back carries. With the trade deadline looming and Barkley returning from his bye, this is your last chance for a potentially season-winning trade. So make it happen.
