Wide receiver Brandon Jones became the second former member of the San Francisco 49ers to join the Seattle Seahawks in the past week.
According to a source, Jones agreed to a contract Sunday with the Seahawks, picking them over the Oakland Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings.
Earlier in the week, the Seahawks acquired former 49ers defensive end Kentwan Balmer in a trade that cost the team a sixth-round pick in 2011.
Jones, 27, signed a five-year, $16.5 million contract with the 49ers in 2009 but never really fit in. He played eight games for the 49ers and caught only one pass for 18 yards. The 49ers released him last week. He spent his first four seasons with the Tennessee Titans and caught 112 passes for 1,380 yards.
